The sun is definitely shining and we feel it intensely each day as we are out and about, however the millions of sunflowers which love and follow the sun are something to see.  There are fields of these large headed beauties full of honey bees that go as far as the eye can see.  Harvest time will produce sunflower seeds, vegetable oil and honey.

Looking back over the last few weeks, we will share with you a few highlights that again are tiny drops in the rainbow of love and service being rained on Romania and Moldova.  One of the many wheelchair distributions was an event held in our building for the first time.  The church provides the wheelchairs and Motivation Romania (an NGO) finds recipients.  Working together to distribute, train and fit 21 wheelchairs was a great day.  We arranged for President Hill to give the motivational talk and our branch president conducted.  We provided plenty of suc, brownies and banana bread to a grateful group of people.  What a joy to see them "wheeling" out of the church, down the ramp and on their way to new found freedom of wheels.

Even more exciting was packing our three big bags of 50 soft toys animals to find their homes in the hands of children at the hospital being treated for burns, plastic surgery and cancer.  We took our YSA Pres. and 2 elders fully expecting to drop the toys off, but a wonderful meeting with the Director of the hospital was our unexpected delight to talk with him.  He indicated that they have medicine, treatment and surgery, but the children need love to heal; would we like to deliver the toys?  Would we!!! Two and a half hours later we had emptied our bags and filled our hearts as we saw these children smile and hug their soft animal toys.   A great day---with pictures to share.

We find our way around Bucharest quite readily walking to the bus stop; then off the bus to the Metro Stop; back on a bus or Tramvai then walking to destination.  I followed Elder McFadden around one day with my camera so you can see how we get around here.

We now have 5 agreements with universities that want some of our "associates" to lecture in the fall.  It has been very rewarding to see their enthusiasm for our offer of providing lecture times for their sutdents.

The Ploiesti Branch which is 1 hour north of Buc decided to do an open house to have some of the public sector become familiar with the church and the missionaires.  It was well planned with very nice visuals in rooms depicting R.S., Primary, YW, YM, Priesthood and a nice segment on the Book of Mormon and coming to Christ.  We traveled up and prepared the food for the 250 guests and members who attended.  McFadden presentation was pretty much like you see at events "back home" : )  The Media was there and a segment was on the local news, utube and currently the TV station here wants to send someone to Salt Lake City to do a short documentary on the church.  President Hill is also talking to TV station today.  Hooray!  Check out our budding, just established Romanian Webside for the event @ Mormonii.ro

We so much look forward to hearing from you!  Keep us posted on what is going on in your world and lives and remember....

Tu iubim
